Alley Cats

Alley Cats Hurst, Texas

The other night Glenda was hosting a Blogger Event at Alley Cats in Hurst, Texas. Glenda asked if I would like to bring my family in exchange for dinner and free bowling. I asked David and he said we should take the children.

Getting ready to Bowl

Although the night Glenda was hosting the event it was Storming. David, wasn’t feeling well so I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it. But after hearing not many people were showing up. I let David know I was going to take the kids.

We all got dressed and then we went to get into the car. As I was loading the children the Weather started to get worse but Pizza was calling my name. We all got to Alley Cats and the kids couldn’t wait to get inside.

Glenda, had brought her husband and Charlie with her. I would like to let you know Charlie and David were playing Video Games to visit with me, which was okay because I needed to make my way to the upstairs  Bowling Alley.

I walked through Alley Cats I noticed 820 Bistro and Bar. I can’t wait to bring my Girl Friends  for a Mom Free Night. Although, I may not be able to get away from David who will want to come with me. Which would be a perfect Date Nite.

Look at the Gang getting ready to Bowl!

The kids and I sat down to have Pizza with our family and the other bloggers. I enjoyed watching Lily and Jason talk to the other children who was here for Bowling. Jason and Lily was so excited they couldn’t be still.

Brian begin to talk to us about Alley Cats after Angel told us about his Balloon Decorating business. I can’t wait to use his services for my nieces Birthday. Brian let us know they have a Reading program which I want to sign Jason up for.

Angel showing off his creation. I can’t wait to talk to Angel more about his business.

During dinner we asked Brian questions which Glenda knew most of the answers to. We were taken downstairs to the Bowling Alley and I was able to bowl while watching my Charlie bowl as well.

When we finished we went to play Video Games. We couldn’t get Lily and Jason out of Alley Cats and before we had gotten home that evening they were already asking to come back the next day.

The following Tuesday we went back because on Tuesday all of the outside attractions are half price. We bowled for free through the KidsBowlFree.com with my sister and her family. Then on Wednesday we came and played Putt Putt.

if you would like to know more about our adventures that evening check out my sister’s post here. Glenda Cates

Who Is Alyssa Torrence

Hello, I am Alyssa a mom, wife, daughter and a friend to many. I am also a new Blogger and will be helping my Aunt with who host events in DFW. As I introduce myself to you I would like to let you know I will be sharing my thoughts on the places I visit. The products we use in our home and Giveaway’s I find that I think would interest you.

I have been married to David for 5 years and we have two wonderful children. Lily our daughter and Jason our son who will be entering Kindergarten this year. I have been a stay at home mom but at times I did work outside the home.

We are living with my mother in law Debbie and yes, it might seem funny to others but to us it works. Although it can be challenging I wouldn’t want to change it because Debbie is one of my best friends.

I love to cook and use a Instant Pot almost daily and will be sharing recipes and tips on how to use a Instant Pot because my Aunt Glenda from TheMommiesReviews.com has been asking me how it works so I thought I’d share what I’ve done so far.

If you would like to know more about me just ask.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
