So last night I had a blast at the Alamo Drafthouse with my family. We attended the Purple Rain Movie Party and it was so much fun. It was my first time attending a movie party and I’d definitely like to go to other events like this.

Aunt Glenda, Debbie and I. (Charlie and Uncle David not pictured)
They had little props that you could use during the movie. It was really cool to see everyone joining in on using their glow sticks and guitars I would have gotten a picture but you know its rude to have your phone out during the movie.
Guitar and glow sticks with purple streamers.
I enjoyed singing with my family and waving the glowstick’s dancing and purifying myself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. (Prince reference) This was actually my first time seeing the movie so the movie party made it that much more enjoyable.
Wave certain glowsticks for certain scenes of the movie.
This would definitely would be fun for a girls night out to just have a few drinks at the bar before the movie and have a few specialty drinks during the movie. I didn’t get to get the purple rain alcoholic drink this time but I definitely will next time.
My hubby and I went last night to see The Lion King it was amazing! It was the best birthday present for sure, Because The Lion King was my childhood favorite movie. I definitely want to go back and take my kids to see it. I talked with my Aunt Glenda about how she is attending Disney The Lion King play in Lewisville in August. I was so excited to hear about it and told her how I’d want to join her and Uncle David and Charlie to see it.
I’m really happy that my Aunt Glenda got me into the Blogging community I’m slowly but surely building my page up and I’d hope that I can attend events like Disney The Lion King.

I’ve never attended the Dallas Symphony Orchestra but I definitely want to. Especially Since They are going to be having The Nightmare Before Christmas which I love! Literally my hubby tells me to stop collecting Jack and Sally stuff because I have so much which I guess you could say I’m obsessed hah.
I grew up watching Harry Potter with my mom. So this will be a great one for us to go to since we are both band nerds. I played the flute for 8 years and she played the clarinet for 7 years, So we will definitely enjoy some live and elegant music. I can’t wait to tell her about It so we can attend this wonderful event.

First off I’m sorry for being behind in the challenge but alot has happened. Last week I wasn’t feeling to well these darn allergies are kicking my butt but I’m feeling much better this week. Then the week before that we took our first family trip to Disney World! Which was fantastic I’m getting all our photos together for that trip because there is so many! So I’m going to keep writing to try my best to catch up.
Me and my mother in law Debbie took the kiddos to eat for brunch and they ended up deciding on donuts, Which works for me because I know how much they love the cute donuts at Donut Lovers.
Lily eating her chocolate Penny first.
Sharing with Mimi
Jason showing off his “Penny Donut” as he call’s it.
So we decided to eat at The Bluebonnet Cafe which I haven’t eaten there in about 6 years! Let me tell you It’s been too long because I love the home feeling there and the food is like when you go to visit your grandma and she makes you a home cooked meal with love.
So we sat there happy and ordered our breakfast for lunch. I got the Pecan waffle with 2 over easy eggs and bacon. Debbie ordered a Pecan waffle as well she was stuck between that or the fruit covered french toast.
My Pecan Waffle meal.
Pecan Waffle is the best covered in syrup.
But we made the right choice because our food was amazing! The kids were enjoying their donuts and we finished and Debbie let them pay and give the lady in the front the bill. ( So sorry I don’t remember her name) She was super nice to us and the kids that they reminded her it was Cookie Time! She had baked some cookies and gave it to them as a treat when we left. I loved that they really think of everyone and they are so thoughtful.
I had a little bite of Lily’s they were amazing.
Cookie time!
I will definitely be back sooner that last time, because I’m going to need my waffle fix and I’d like to take my hubby with me next time as a family meal.
We decided to head home but I was like nope lets take the kids to the splash pad. I know they aren’t wearing swim suits but I just wanted them to be kids and have a little fun before nap time that day. Overall It was a great day and I loved spending time with my family.
So my nephew Charlie wanted his hair changed before summer was over. So he graciously asked me to do it for him and I agreed so we took a trip with his mom Glenda (My Aunt Glenda) to Sally’s Beauty Supply and bought the items we needed.
Manic Panic colors on the shelf! My favorite brand.
Charlie stoked about us doing his hair today.
Buying the supplies.
He was so excited about getting it done and to be honest I was pretty nervous because I haven’t colored a younger kids hair in a long time. Last time i colored hair was for my sister Brittney and she loved it she did a gorgeous Turquoise color.
Well back to the day he was stuck on pink or purple and I had to end up hiding both of the jar’s behind my back and having him to pick blindly. It ended up being purple which he was still happy about.
Mixed the bleach.
So step 1 I bleached his hair and washed it with purple shampoo and conditioner I then asked him how he waned his purple full head or just partial. He was so in love with the blonde that he just wanted to do the front purple.
Bleaching process
Bleached hair looks great, I didn’t want it to bright because I didn’t want to damage his hair.
So step 2 I added the purple where he wanted to and I let it set for about 30 minutes to stain the hair really well, Since punky colors wash out after a few washes.
Added the purple in my bowl before application.
He only wanted the front purple.
Step 3 I washed the excess color out and then I got a surprise from my wonderful mother in law (Debbie)! She wanted to add a little bit of purple on the underneath layer of her hair so we went for it.
I’m applying the purple the Debbie’s hair.
Step 4 The final product! I love the brightness of Charlie’s hair and Debbie’s hair came out perfect as well just darker because I just added the purple on her natural hair color not lightened.
Charlie’s purple looks amazing.
Charlie and Debbie
The purple stained her skin but it will come off after the first few washes.
Hey everyone hope all is well! Well today was a pretty relaxed day for me. Just some grocery shopping and chores, I was feeling an easy dinner so I texted my Tia Roxanne and asked her about the recipe that she used for our Thanksgiving get together.
I’m so happy that she got back to me because I was seriously craving a casserole which I’ve never made one before. So I was pretty nervous about how everything was going to turn out. But I decided to just give it a go.
They spelled my name wrong on my coffee.
Coffee with the hubby is the best.
First thing first I had a coffee date with the hubs before grocery shopping I needed a little bit of liquid motivation to get things going.
After we got all the stuff I went home and did my chores and then started prepping for dinner. It was pretty simple I cut the time by cooking the chicken in my Instant Pot for 10 minutes which makes it nice and moist then I set it aside to cool and boiled the rice and broccoli and put everything together. Let me tell you though it smelled amazing! It was a definite hit with the family I can’t wait to make it for a pot luck or family get together because it’s so simple yet delicious.
I would like to let you know Glenda was invited to the only performance of John Leguizamo’s LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District.
David, Glenda’s husbands Birthday is that day and only having two tickets she isn’t sure if she will cover this event of not.
Since I haven’t been here before I may go in her place or I may be able to go with Glenda. Be watching to see who goes and what we think of the event.
In the meantime I wanted to share information on Latin History For Morons.
LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONSis inspired by the near total absence of Latinos from his son’s American History books. John Leguizamo embarks on an outrageously funny, frenzied search to find a Latin hero for his son’s school history project.
From a mad recap of the Aztec empire to stories of unknown Latin patriots of the Revolutionary War and beyond, Leguizamo breaks down the 3,000 years between the Mayans and Pitbull into 110 irreverent and uncensored minutes above and beyond his unique style.
